Does using Kindo feel like a pleasure?

24 Jul 2007

We’ve spent a load of time trying to figure out how to take away the complexity in our application, focussing on taking features that are functional and making them super simple, easy, and ultimately what we hope will be a joy to use.

To do that we go through multiple user interface and design iterations, which always brings out the passion in people. Just today we had a group of the team arguing passionately over a small but important feature, where the differences between American and European audiences became very clear.

Our challenge is that we’re often so invested in what we do, so close to the nuances, that we often forget to take a step back and look at things with fresh and critical eyes. Which is in part why we’re opening up the application to Alpha users - given enough eyeballs all bugs are shallow and hopefully user interface issues will surface too.

So I guess my question is aimed at everyone who is an Alpha user - is it a joy to use Kindo? is it a pleasurable experience?
If yes, we’re doing something right; and if not, we’re most definitely doing something wrong and need to examine what it is, and what we can do to make it a joy.

I’d like to think that we’re pretty open to constructive criticism and suggestion, so any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated!! ;-)

As we’ve discussed - the initial flow is looking good but profile section still needs lots of work. I like the ideas we talked about the other day though, hopefully that will address those concerns.

Good work dev team! Thanks, and keep it up.
