Johnson is the oldest of four children of a former Conservative MEP, employee of the European Commission and World Bank, and the granddaughter of Sir James Fawcett, a prominent barrister and president of the European Commission of Human Rights. His paternal grandmother Irene Williams nicknamed “Granny Butter” in the family, relates Mr. Johnson to George II.
